Time Attack Course:
The Time Attack Course for Round #4 of the points championship will be challenging with fast sections of the track and slow tight / technical components as well. The course will feature a layout which incorporates the pit lane, turn 1 of the oval, the apron at the bottom of turn 1 and the front straightaway at PPIR. This will be the first occasion that the Time Attack course has been set on this section of the raceway in 2016. The staging lanes will also be located in a new spot being on the west side of the garages. This course will be spectator friendly as people will be able to watch from the cold side of the pit lane wall.
The event on 6/19 will feature an outdoor rental kart track on the inside of the quarter mile oval at PPIR. It is going to be a blast!! Make sure to give it a try! Buy your tickets at the beer garden.
The drift course for June 19th will feature a fast and wide layout along with a small practice area for donuts and figure 8's. The large track will begin with a high-speed manji where drivers will flick the car's outside rear towards a clipping zone directly in front of the spectator area. Following the outer clipping zone at the spectator area the drivers will negotiate around an inner clip in the center of the straightaway then immediately start slowing the car down with some e-brake modulation. Turn one is a large decreasing radius corner which feeds into an even larger turn two with more than 180 degrees of directional change. The last corner on the track will be a hair pin. The drivers will be entering and exiting the track through the same gate this time around in order to minimize traffic through the pit area.
A few quick tips to make sure your day at PPIR goes smoothly:
* Make sure to read through the tech inspection card to ensure that your car and your helmet are ready to go for the day. If anything is found to not meet the requirements, you will not be able to drive!
* Check your tires after every run. If a tire blows-out during a run it is possible to damage your car in numerous ways, if you see chords it's time to switch out wheels/tires.
* Use the donut box to sharpen your car control skills throughout the day.
