1.3-mile Road Course
This is the course used most frequently by car clubs, who love the intimacy and the quality of the PPIR facility. This Alan Wilson designed course uses three sections of the 1-mile oval, combined with an infield road course. The combination presents a thrilling challenge for all types of vehicles -- higher-horsepower cars will pull ahead in the straight area, while cars built for crisp turns will excel through a combination of white-knuckle inspiring left and right turns.
The entire track can be seen from the roof of the two-story press classroom building in the infield. The infield additionally includes a paddock, grid and areas for spectators, giving a much more intimate experience than using the main grandstands outside the track. Cars and spectators have access to the infield through a tunnel under the south end of the oval.
Autocross Lot
Pikes Peak International Raceway features a 12-acre autocross lot offering virtually unlimited race options. The smooth, flat, unobscured surface is ideal for a variety of activities such as time trials, driver’s education and limitless autocross configurations.
Pikes Peak International Raceway offers its Autocross Lot to clubs and organizations that wish to hold autocross events there, as well as other groups that wish to rent the 12-acre flat, paved site for other purposes.
1/4-Mile Oval
The ingenious design of PPIR’s interior road course results in the ability to use a small, tight ¼-mile oval track. This surface is ideal for small, fast Legends Car racing and Bandolaros. It provides thrills for novice racers as well as professionals.
Future Track Development
The high-octane thrills continue building at PPIR. In the works is a new 2.1-mile road course just outside the large 1-mile oval track. Details will be coming, but we can promise exciting elevation changes, as well as a track that is 90 percent viewable from the paddock.
PPIR also has plans in development for karting surfaces, drag strips and a longer, more intense road course. In addition, our nearly 1,200 acres of undeveloped land provide opportunities for motocross and off-road racing applications as well.
